Women with Hairy Legs at MUN: Strange fundraiser

Memorial University is sponsoring a strange event where they are asking women (and men?) to not shave their legs for nearly a month. They are raising money for Planned Parenthood. Obviously there are several problems with this.

First and foremost this event, dubbed "Feb-U-Hairy", is sponsoring Planned Parenthood. Officially the money is going towards paying for pap smears to help prevent cervical cancer. There is nothing wrong with preventing cervical cancer, and it is in fact commendable. But giving money to Planned Parenthood is not. Planned Parenthood was founded by Margaret Sanger to assist with her eugenics plan. She wanted to eliminate "minorities" as much as possible, especially black people. Nowadays, Planned Parenthood is the world's largest provider of abortion, and they are trying to extend this to every corner of the Earth. True to their roots, black people are the main target of their activities, especially in the United States.

Secondly, this Febuhairy (Februhairy) event is encouraging women to not shave their legs. What is the purpose of this? They say they are encouraging men and women not to, but 99% of men don't shave their legs anyway, unless they are professional wrestlers or swimmers or something. What is the point of encouraging women to act like men? Maybe that's something Planned Parenthood encourages because it fits with their ideology. They want women and men to be the same, not equal. Then they can more easily promote their ideology that an unborn child is a parasite that inhibits a woman's progress, because women compare themselves to men who do not get pregnant.

People should give their money to more worthy causes.

  1. I'm actually in tears laughing at this post.

Your claims are just insane on so many levels.

Thanks for the laugh, I needed that.

It really saddens me to think that people can be so naive to the issues of the day.
Men shaving their legs brings attention to them and provides them with the opportunity why they participated, also women with hairy legs also garner the same attention and can promote cervical cancer awareness in a similar way.
This initiative has nothing to do with promoting abortions in minorities, it has to do with creating awareness about the links between HPV and cervical cancer and gaining funds to provide more screening.

You are very much correct. And you are not insane. Planned Parenthood is evil, and serves no real purpose but to kill our children.

I notice the anon. commentor has no courage to print a name. Like a thief in the night the plan is to attack and leave a self serving elitist comment which they think to be oh so witty.

    These are my articles...

  4. Thanks Richard for your comments. I was wondering if you would be interested in exchanging feeds in our blogs. You can see how I have done it for some other blogs. Let me know.

  5. Clearly you haven't done your research before writing this post.

The fundraiser is designed to raise money for cervical cancer awareness. Cervical cancer is largely correlated to HPV, a sexually-transmitted infection. Up to 70% of cervical cancer cases are related to HPV.

Cervical cancer can be prevented through regular Pap testing, a service offered through Planned Parenthood. The fundraiser has nothing to do with abortion, though that is another valuable service Planned Parenthood does provide to women.

Your entire third paragraph is filled with flawed logic. Further, your attitude that, in order for women to be women, they need to shave their legs (and, by extension, if they do not, they're acting like men) reeks of patriarchy. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised: it's an attitude typical of men of the Catholic faith.

Memorial University isn't an official sponsor of this, either, so there goes your lede.

Congratulations on completely misapprehending the issue, and on promoting puritanical ignorance in your blog.

  6. ...planned parenthood, at least in Canada, does not offer abortion services. They do however offer many invaluable testing and screening services, and counselling when it comes to issues as emotional as unwanted pregnancy. Where you got any of these facts I will never know, because aside from the name of the fundraiser everything you're spewing is false
